Material Overview
- Application
- Cabin panels, interior structures, fuel tanks, trim and light marine components.
- Engineering Advantage
- Good formability and corrosion resistance for light-gauge marine fabrication.
- Specification
- Alloy 5052 · H32 / H34 and specified tempers · Sheet and coil conversion support.
5052 marine aluminum sheet is generally specified for lighter-gauge fabricated parts where formability and corrosion resistance are important. It is commonly used for non-primary hull components, tanks, panels and interior marine equipment.
For primary hull plating or highly loaded welded structures, the engineer should compare 5052 with 5083 or 5086 according to strength, weld design and service exposure.
