Corrosion Risks
Marine aluminum can be affected by galvanic coupling, crevice conditions, poor drainage, incompatible coatings and unsuitable fasteners. Material selection alone cannot compensate for poor structural detailing.
Protection Methods
Use compatible fasteners, electrical isolation, drainage, clean surfaces, specified coating systems and inspection access. Assess corrosion risk at interfaces and welded details.
